As we move into May, pest activity is in full swing across Iowa and schedules are filling up fast. This is one of the busiest times of the year for pest management professionals, and the Iowa Pest Management Association is here to help support you through it.

Proceeds from the outing support the IPMA Scholarship Fund, helping provide opportunities for the next generation of pest management professionals.

Busy Season Is Here
May means one thing in pest control... we’re busy.
With ants, termites, wasps, and everything in between ramping up, this is the time of year where schedules get tight and days get long.
A few reminders to help you get through the season:
Stay organized
Keep routes efficient and communicate clearly with customers to avoid unnecessary callbacks.
Take care of your team
Long days can wear people down. Make sure everyone is staying hydrated, taking breaks, and working safely.
Stock up early
Make sure trucks are fully stocked so technicians are not losing time running back for supplies.
Lean on your network
If you run into something unusual, don’t forget IPMA is here to help connect you with other professionals who can offer advice or guidance.
We know how demanding this time of year can be, but it is also one of the most rewarding. You are helping customers solve problems every day while building strong businesses across the state.

Mother’s Day: May 10
Take time to celebrate the mothers in your life and show appreciation for everything they do. Whether it’s your mom, your spouse, or someone who has played that role, make sure they feel as special as they are.
Memorial Day: May 25
On Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.
We also want to give a shout out to all veterans in our industry. Thank you for your service.
