Code of Ethics

The Iowa Pest Management Association is committed to professionalism, integrity, and ethical service. As part of its governing bylaws, IPMA subscribes to the Code of Ethics of the National Pest Management Association.

Our Commitment

IPMA promotes high standards of conduct and ethics in the pest management industry and expects members to operate in a manner consistent with those standards.

Member Responsibility

Under the bylaws, membership eligibility and continued participation are tied to a business record that is consistent with the Code of Ethics. 

Ethical Principles

Relations with the Public: Members should not use tricky, fraudulent, or misleading language or methods in advertisements or business solicitations.

Relations with Clients: Members should thoroughly analyze client needs and conscientiously recommend the services or solutions best suited to those needs.

Professional Services: Members are expected to render skilled, intelligent, and conscientious service when they accept a contract or service agreement.

Relations with Competitors: Members should not publicly criticize the business or private affairs of a competitor.

Relations with the Association: Members should remain loyal to the principles of the Association and be active in its advancement.

Ethics & Membership

Ethical practice is a core expectation of IPMA membership. The bylaws also state that the Association reserves the right to remove officers or directors who are not functioning in line with the most ethical practices of their office.
